To help us achieve our mission of unleashing the potential of every team, the Atlassian Creative Studio is looking for a Design Director to extend our storytelling and reach our ever growing audience. You'll be fully remote and report to a Group Design Director while working with a vibrant, and globally distributed creative team to create impact and delight while pushing the boundaries of our brand and measuring your impact along the way.

Your role as a Designer Director is to be a craft and people-focused leader that helps bring Atlassian products to life through well-crafted visual narratives across all our channels and customer touch points. We are looking for a product-minded designer with experience in storytelling with a portfolio that shows an attention to design details and a process that displays curiosity and collaboration. You will expected to show business impact and produce creative solutions that help our team achieve our goals with thoughtful customer-centric design.

Your background:

  • 8+ years of experience in Brand Design and 2+ years of managing creatives, demonstrated with an exciting portfolio that highlights complex design systems. Huge plus if you've worked in a branded house of products or a brand identity evolution.
  • Experience collaborating with a diverse team in a culture motivated by innovation, huge plus if you've worked with distant teammates and understand the communication patterns of working with distributed teams.
  • A portfolio that showcases projects that demonstrate familiarity with complex brands.
  • A deep understanding of the formal elements of design, including typography, layout, and color as well as proven experience with design principles, processes, and the strategy that underpins them.
  • A skillset that spans web, print, motion, experiential, and campaign design.
  • An appreciation of feedback as a gift.
  • Exceptional visual, verbal and written skills.
  • A shared belief that collaboration improves creativity.
  • Experience working with cross-functional partners in marketing and product design organizations, as well as direct oversight of external partners like agencies and freelancers.
  • Confidence in presenting and articulating your work to peers, partners, and leadership.
  • Experience in working with illustration and video.
  • Expertise with Figma, the Adobe Creative Suite, and collaboration software for presentations.

The Creative Studio is Atlassian's dynamic internal creative agency embedded within the marketing organization. Collectively, the team defines, articulates, and scales how millions of users experience and connect with the Atlassian brand from multiple dimensions. Focused on supporting many teams across our entire company, you will be amongst the designers, illustrators, writers, and animators who combine strategy with research, creativity, and craft to build and shape how we're viewed by the world. And we don't want people to just use our products, we want people to love them!

Compensation

At Atlassian, we try to design equitable, explainable, and fair compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is determined by a candidate's skills and experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:

Zone A: $168,100 - $224,200

Zone B: $151,300 - $201,700

Zone C: $139,500 - $186,100

This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
